Plagiarism Detection 2024

October 24 – 25, 2024, there was held online the ninth annual research and practical conference “Plagiarism Detection” organized by the “Antiplagiat” company with the support of the Russian State Library, Lipetsk State Technical University, Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers, information and analytical journal “University Book”, Association of Producers and Users of Educational Electronic Resources, etc.

Specialists of science and education, IT, law and culture, the officials of the government structures and business from Russia, Malaysia, India, Kazakhstan, Belarus and other states were discussing possibilities of legitimate usage of modern information and communication technologies in education and research work, with further publication of the results fairly achieved. The second day of the conference events was dedicated to copyright matters, and this time there were considered not only usual aspects of incorrect quoting, but also matters of distinguishing rights for the digitally born texts created with usage of the AI technologies.

The report of his own was presented by the president of the “Antiplagiat” company Mr Y.Chekhovich. The speech deal with problems of duplicate scientific articles in the national specialized journals. The topic was also highlighted in A. Zhaksylyk’s report entitled “Retraction as Quality Indicator for Research Works”. The speaker was an official delegate of the Department of Science and Human Resource of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Meanwhile other most interesting speeches were devoted to the practices of plagiarism preventing in the educational establishments of all levels in Russia and abroad, and the experiences of usage of specialized software for revealing incorrect overlaps in research works.
