17th International Conference "Central Asia 2024 — Internet and Library Information Resources in Science, Education, Business and Culture"

14-17 May, 2024, the cities of Samarkand and Jizzakh (Uzbekistan) are hosting the events of the 17th International conference "Central Asia 2024 — Internet and library information resources in science, education, business and culture", which are being held in online and offline formats.

The organisers of the conference are the Information and Mass Communications Agency under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoiy, the "Uzarchiv" Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi and the Uzbek State Institute of Arts and Culture.

Among the participants there are traditional guests such as heads and specialists of libraries, archives and museums, research and educational establishments, representatives of government and business.

The issues to be discussed vary. There are planned to be considered problems of efficient professional cooperation of specialists from friendly states at diverse levels targeted at enhancing library information products and services, that including the development of the consortia in cooperative usage of digital resources and organization of methodology centres for studying new information technologies. Apart from that, there are also going to be dealt with such ever-important topics as promoting book and reading among youngsters and strengthening cultural ties.
