RSL Virtual Reading Room at the Sevastopol Children Arts School

The Russian State Library continues broadening its network of virtual reading rooms. This time a new VRR RSL was launched at the Sevastopol Children Arts School. The opportunity to work with the unique research and educational resource of the largest library of the nation was a prize to the organization for their winning the school-library contest organized by the National Digital Library team and started on November 21, 2023, at the special webinar of the Russian Academy of Education.

Within the framework of the contest, libraries were to form thematic collections for the National Digital Library and to promote them among their own users. The largest number of visits brought the main prize to the Sevastopol Children Arts School. Their collection "Books about Fine Arts" got 320 views and turned out to be the winner.

The Sevastopol Children Arts School is based at the first purposely-built mansion destined for supplementary education in the sphere of arts. It was officially opened in the ninth anniversary of Sevastopol and Crimea rejoining Russia. Over 1000 pupils attend the school and do pre-professional courses and general-developing programmes. They study at art classes and production workshops, computer rooms and huge library and information centre.
