Lecture "Thai Cuisine: School of Taste"

The Russian State Library continues its series of lectures devoted to the culture of peoples of Asia and Africa. Thus, 7 April, 2023, in cooperation with the South-Eastern Asia Club of the Institute of Asia and Africa States of Moscow State University, there was organized first meeting focused on the gastronomic aspects of the Eastern culture. Candidate of History, orientalist, gastronomic journalist, author and bloger, restaurant critic Anatoly Ghendin spoke on the traditions of the Thai cuisine. The audience, that including the officials of the Thai Embassy in Russia, were presented the peculiarities of Thai food technology, beginning with the basics of usage of fruit and vegetables, the role of rice, papaya, lime and nam-pla sauce in Thai housewives' hands, and to the secrets of cooking authentic Thai meals in our condition.
